DEFERMENT OF NEW STUDENTS
If you have received an offer for Undergraduate Study at Macquarie University through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC) for First Half Year 2008 you can defer your place at Macquarie for one year.
"Deferment" at Macquarie University is used ONLY in relation to people who have received an offer of a place at Macquarie through UAC, but choose to postpone commencing their studies for one year. (If you are a Current Macquarie Student and want to take time off between years of study please refer to our discontinue section)
Please note that Deferment is not available if you have received an offer for Second half-year enrolment.
How do I apply for Deferment?
- Accept your offer.
- Complete this form and return it to the Coursework Studies Section by 31 March 2008.
- Attach your UAC Acceptance of Offer slip from the bottom of the Offer Letter you received.
Conditions of Deferment
- Deferment in a course will only be granted once.
- If during 2008 you undertake tertiary study (other than secretarial studies or courses which are not recognised by Macquarie University for selection purposes), this deferment will lapse and your application for admission will be reappraised in the light of your complete education records.
How will I be notified?
You will be notified of your deferment in writing by mid-April, if you have not received a letter, contact the Coursework Studies Section.
You are required to reapply through UAC in August 2008 to activate your deferred place at Macquarie University.
