Elite Athletes and Artistic Performers Entry Schemes
Elite Athletes and Artistic Performers Scheme is designed for applicants who believe that their performing, training and/or competitive commitments have affected their HSC or study preparation in 2007 and 2008. Macquarie University’s Ranking Committee will consider the circumstances of the applicant and determine if they are eligible for bonus points towards their UAI.
Approval under this scheme does not guarantee admission but allows applicants who have been assessed as being “elite” and whose competitive commitments have impeded their study performance to compete for a place with a UAI up to four points below the course cut-off for the year of admission. All applicants must achieve a UAI of 70.00 or above to be eligible for special consideration.
Application Process
Applications are now open for first semester 2009 entry.
The Elite Athletes and Performers Entry Scheme is not available for mid-year entry.
A member of staff from the Macquarie University Sport and Recreation will contact all elite athlete applicants in early December 2008 to discuss their interest in Macquarie University and their performance in their chosen sport.
Further to the discussion, the University’s Ranking Committee will assess all applications and determine their eligibility to receive the bonus points.
Applicants will be notified by mail of the outcome of their application by the end of December. Successful applicants will be considered for a place in a degree which has a UAI cut-off between one and four points above their own UAI.

For both Year 11 & 12 and Non-Secondary school applicants the activity which affected the applicant’s study performance must have occurred in 2007 and/or 2008.
