Bachelor of Teaching (Birth to School Age)
Applications for Semester 2 2009 will open in May 2009.
This qualification is intended for people who are interested in teaching children who are in the age group from birth to school age.
Eligibility
To be eligible for selection, applicants must have:
- have completed a TAFE Diploma of Children’s Services (Centre Based Care) or equivalent prior to 2006.
- have at least one year’s field experience with children under the 5 years age as a qualified childcare worker (attach a letter from employer).
Preference will be given to applicants who have DOCS approval to be acting as a teacher in their current position (attach a letter from employer).
Applications are competitive and quotas apply.

Course
The course requires 2.5 years of enrolment (44 credit points). It commences with a five (5) day on-campus session. Units other than ECST100 & ECST101, ECST200 may be completed internally or via distance.If you twice fail ECHP324 ‘ Early Childhood Reflective Practice 4’ or ECHP444 ‘ Early Childhood Internship’ you may be excluded from the degree.
