Eligibility

The Graduate Certificate in Biotechnology will provide a substantial practical basis for graduates who are seeking to enrol in the Master of Biotechnology and who do not have a relevant science background.

 

Application Procedures

Applications for Semester 2, 2008 are now closed. Applications for Semester 2, 2009 will open in Mid-April 2009.

Please note that Applications To Graduate Certificate in Biotechnology are only available for commencement in Semester Two.

Documentation Required

Macquarie University requires you to provide either an original official academic transcript, or a certified copy of the original with your application.  If you do not provide this information, your application will not be considered.

Documents can be certified at the Student Enquiry Service.  You are required to bring with you the original document(s) and photocopies of the document(s).  Documents may also be certified by a Justice of the Peace.If you have studied at Macquarie University previously, we will access your Macquarie University results directly.

 

Course Information

Students who are Australian citizens will be able to seek government assistance in the form of HECS-HELP. Permanent Residents (who are not holders of an Australian Permanent Resident Humanitarian Visa) will be required to pay their student contribution in full to undertake this program. (Separate fee structures may apply for applicants who are not Australian Citizens or who do not fall under the Student Contribution Scheme).

The program requires completion of a minimum of 12 credit points, which involves full time study over one semester. Students, in consultation with the program co-ordinator, select a minimum of four units from a list of approved options.
