Graduate Diploma of Japanese
The Graduate Diploma of Japanese will not be offered in 2009.
A Graduate Diploma program in Japanese has been designed to cater for the needs of graduates from other disciplines wanting to study Japanese to supplement their professional qualifications and to receive formal recognition of their studies, without the need to undertake a full degree program.
Eligibility
This program is available on campus only.
The normal entry requirement is a Bachelor degree or equivalent in any discipline. Applicants not holding a Bachelor degree but who can provide evidence of other academic and/or professional attainments may be admitted to the Graduate Diploma subject to approval by the Undergraduate Studies Committee.
Native speakers of the language are normally excluded.
Only students who hold a Permanent Residency Visa or are Australian Citizens can apply. The structure of the program does not comply with the visa requirements for international students.
At the entry point, it will be assumed that applicants have qualifications equivalent to a Higher School Certificate pass in the Extension level Japanese. Those who do not possess these qualifications are required to complete a qualifying year (6 or 8 credit points) as a non-award student in the University (Contact the Centre for Open Education on 02 9850 7470 for further details).
Application Procedures
