For the purposes of Cross Institution study, Macquarie University is the 'Host University'; accordingly your current University is the 'Home University'.

International Students currently enrolled in an undergraduate award at another Higher Education Provider should contact Macquarie International at http://www.international.mq.edu.au/

Concurrent Studies at Macquarie University refers to a student studying a degree at Macquarie University intending to study individual units at another tertiary institution.

Cross Institutional study at Macquarie University may be suitable for students in the following categories:

How Do I Apply

Applicants within the Sydney Metropolitan Area must obtain academic approval from the appropriate Macquarie University Department/Faculty prior to lodging the application. This involves coming to the Macquarie University campus and consulting the course convenor in the relevant Department. Approval must be in the form of a signature from the Department on the front page of the application. Emails/letters are not acceptable forms of approval.

Please obtain the following documents from your Home University and submit them to Macquarie University with your application:

A simple printout of results will not be accepted. If you do not yet have an official transcript, please order one immediately from your Home University as these can take time to obtain.

  1. A letter of authority from your Home University, stating clearly that you have permission to undertake Cross Institutional study at Macquarie in the Units of study concerned and that they will count towards your award at the Home University.
