COURSE/DEGREE TRANSFER

Course/degree transfers for Semester 2 2009, are now open and close on 31 July 2009.

Macquarie University offers Undergraduate Students the opportunity to transfer internally into some degrees if you satisfy certain requirements. The requirements for transferring between undergraduate course programs are set out below.

The credit point totals used for assessing course transfers must be from units completed at Macquarie University only.

The GPA calculation includes Summer Course units however it does not include Macquarie Non Award units or Credit for Previous Studies from designated units undertaken at other institutions including SIBT.

COURSE TRANSFER POLICY

Internal degree transfer requirements will ordinarily include an aggregate number of credit points successfully completed and a required GPA. The credit points for the purpose of meeting transfer requirements must have been obtained from units undertaken at Macquarie University or from units designated as Macquarie University units e.g. designated credit from non-award or SIBT. The GPA for the purpose of meeting the transfer requirements is generated from Macquarie units undertaken as part of a degree program only i.e. non-award and SIBT are NOT considered in the calculation of GPA.

The following requirements apply for students transferring between North Ryde campus and Macquarie City Campus (MQC).

North Ryde to Macquarie City Campus

The eligibility criteria is a result of the differences in study periods between the two campuses.

Transfer Policy Requirements: The requirements are valid for Semester 2 2009. Policy subject to change.

General

Transfer between the following degree programs will be approved automatically upon application.

  • BA and BADipEd; BSc and BScDipEd; BA - Psy and BA - PsyDipEd
  • Combined LLB to the non LLB element of the combined LLB program eg. BALLB to BA
  • Transfer by 31 July in the first year of enrolment, from one course to another, if the student would have been accepted that year for enrolment in the latter and has been enrolled in first half year.
  • BEc or BCom (including BCom - ACST, BCom - Mktg and BCom - Accg) or BBA or BAppFin to BA or BADipEd/ BSc or BScDipEd/ BEd(ECE)
  • Transfer to BSc - Completion of 18 credit points
  • Completion of 18 credit points in BA to BEd(ECE)
  • BCom-Accg to BCom

  • for students in the Diploma in Ancient Languages wishing to transfer to BA they must be enrolled in the Diploma in Ancient Languages, may transfer after gaining 12 credit points with an overall gpa of 2.0 and before satisfying requirements for Diploma in Ancient Languages.
