Macquarie Coursework Scholarships (Postgraduate Programs)
Macquarie Higher Study Scholarships (MAHS)
For: This scholarship is designed to enable recipients to continue their studies to an Honours level or postgraduate coursework program.
All successful students will be able to demonstrate financial hardship.
Students must be eligible to study at the Honours or postgraduate coursework level in a Commonwealth Supported place or tuition fee place (domestic students only).
Students can supplement their application by providing details regarding the following areas:
- Capacity to triumph over hardship
- Indigenous background
- Carer responsibilities
- Geographic Disadvantage
- Non English speaking background
- Long term medical condition or
- On going effects of abuse
Academic merit will also be considered.
Please note:
Priority will be given to students previously in receipt of a Macquarie or Commonwealth equity scholarhip, although students coming from another university or not previously in receipt of a scholarship can also apply
Value
Up to $8830 per annum for the normal duration of your program*. A pro rata amount might be available for approved part-time study. A full-time waiver would be considered for students who demonstrate they cannot study full-time due to (for example), sole parent responsibilities, carer responsibilities, long-term medical condition/disability or on going effects of abuse.
*For example, a student studying an Honours degree can receive the scholarship for 1 year of full time study. A recipient's on going eligibility will be confirmed each semester prior to payment.

Karen Lynch Memorial Award: Grant-in-Aid
This grant-in-aid of $10,000 per annum, is offered to an indigenous student to assist in postgraduate studies. These studies should be seen to have positive community outcomes. Candidates are nominated by Warawara at Macquarie University and compete for the award with students from other universities.
Master of International Business Scholarship
The purpose of these scholarships is to provide assistance towards the tuition fees for the Master of International Business course for the three students with the highest cumulative GPAs in the Bachelor of Business Hospitality and Tourism. The students will receive tuition fee waivers for all or some of their units in the Master of International Business. Woolworth's Scholarship
The purpose of this scholarship is to provide assistance towards the tuition fees of either the Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Master of Management (M Mgt) in the Graduate School of Management. The scholarship holder, prior to commencing the award, shall be currently employed in a permanent (full or part-time) position in the Australian retail industry and have demonstrated commitment to a career in that industry. The Alex Mitchell Scholarship in Educational Leadership (School Education)
The Scholarship is offered by the Department of Education as one aspect of its broader program of ongoing support for the professional development of mid-career teachers who aspire to formal positions of leadership in and beyond schools.
The Scholarship is offered once a year enabling the successful applicant to undertake postgraduate study in Educational Leadership. It covers tuition fees for the three units in the Postgraduate Certificate in Educational Leadership (School Education) or any three units in the Postgraduate Diploma in Educational Leadership (School Education) or the Master of Educational Leadership (School Education).

The George Cooney Scholarship in Education
The Scholarship is offered by the Department of Education as one aspect of the broader program of ongoing support for the professional development of teachers, especially outstanding early career teachers.
It is offered annually to an early career teacher in his or her first five years of teaching who wants to do postgraduate study in Education. It covers tuition fees only for the three units from a wide range of options in the Postgraduate Certificate in Education Studies or any three units in the Postgraduate Diploma in Education Studies or Master of Education.

Unisys Scholarship
The purpose of this scholarship is to assist talented women with potential for future leadership in the IT Services sector in undertaking the full-time or part-time Master of Business Administration (MBA) program. The successful applicant must be a female Australian citizen or permanent resident. The applicant must have either achieved or demonstrated previous professional experience in the IT Services industry and/or a demonstrated commitment to a career in that industry, high potential in their chosen field or industry, thought leadership and vision, leadership and integrity as a role model for women.
There will be three scholarships to the value of $10,000 each for tuition fees over a one year period. Applications should be made on the relevant application form available from the Graduate School of Management.
Vice Chancellor's Scholarship
The purpose of the scholarship is to assist highly talented individuals in undertaking the full-time or part-time Master of Business Administration (MBA) program. The successful applicant must be a citizen of a country other than Australia. There is one scholarship to the value of 50% of tuition fees over a one year period. In making the decision, the following criteria will be considered: career achievements, personal achievements, goals and ambitions, community activities, expectations and perceived value of the program to their career, motivation and desire to achieve in a program, scholastic achievements and leadership roles.

MGSM Alumni Scholarship

MJS Centre Scholarship for Postgraduate Certificate in Intercultural Pedagogy
The MJS Centre at Macquarie University offers scholarships to support teachers and prospective teachers of Japanese language and cultures who seek further professional development. The Centre invites applicants who wishes to explore new paradigm in language teaching - viz. Intercultural Language Learning (IcLL).

COURSEWORK OR DISSERTATION STIPENDS - UNIVERSITÉ MONTPELLIER 3
Following the signing of an exchange agreement between Macquarie University and the Université Paul-Valéry (UPV) Montpellier 3, UPV advises that the Région Languedoc-Roussillon makes two coursework or dissertation stipends available to Macquarie students wishing to undertake part of their study towards a Macquarie postgraduate degree at UPV. Each stipend is worth EUR 400 per month and lasts for 4 months. The offer is open to Australian citizens and permanent residents of Australia. Working knowledge of French is a prerequisite.
One stipend will be available from January 2010, the other one from either September 2010 or January 2011. Applications are welcomed from students enrolled in a Masters or PhD course in European Languages, English, Linguistics or other fields. The successful candidates will be required to be in Montpellier for the duration of the stipend and will be provided with accommodation in a university studio (in the order of EUR250 per month, payable out of the stipend). They will be allowed to engage in paid employment to a maximum of around 60 hours per month while at UPV.
Applications will be screened at Macquarie University and recommendations for the stipends forwarded to UPV. Please submit applications (e-mail as well as hard copy) to Dr Bert Peeters (Bert.Peeters@mq.edu.au), Department of International Studies, by September 15, for study in Montpellier commencing in January, and by May 15, for study in Montpellier commencing in September. These deadlines take into account deadlines set by UPV for reception of recommendations.
